Our Approach
Pest Control Without the Runaround.
Mission Pest Control aims to make pest control simple, easy to understand, and affordable. We do not believe in recommending extra products or services when the treatment already selected appropriately covers the pest.
When an optional upgrade—such as a targeted bait or monitoring system—would provide a meaningful additional level of protection, we explain the difference clearly and let you decide.
Treatments are selected for the pest and property and applied carefully according to label directions, with attention to people, pets, and the surrounding environment.
Clear recommendations. No unnecessary upselling. Professional treatment matched to the property.

Know What You’re Dealing With
Omaha Pest Library
A practical guide to common pests around Omaha-area homes and businesses—and when professional treatment may help.
Learn how common Omaha-area pests develop, where they hide, and which warning signs to watch for. Photos show representative species; an on-site inspection is the best way to confirm what is active at your property.
Ants
Ants develop through egg, larva, pupa, and adult stages. A colony may contain queens, workers, and seasonally produced winged ants. Seeing a few workers usually means a larger colony is nearby, while a sudden indoor swarm can indicate a mature nest in or close to the structure.
Common nesting sites include soil along foundations, beneath patios and slabs, inside wall voids, and in damp or damaged wood. Watch for organized trails near kitchens, windows, plumbing, and exterior cracks. Standard perimeter treatment covers common ant activity; targeted bait stations are an optional upgrade when deeper colony control is recommended.

Spiders
Female spiders place eggs inside protective silk sacs. Spiderlings emerge looking like miniature adults and grow through several molts. Most house spiders complete their life cycle in about a year, although timing varies by species and indoor conditions.
Look in basements, garages, crawl spaces, window corners, eaves, and quiet storage areas where insect prey is available. Webs, egg sacs, and recurring sightings are the most common clues. The quarterly plan treats common harborages and entry points while also reducing many of the insects spiders feed on.

Cockroaches
Cockroaches develop through egg, nymph, and adult stages. Eggs are protected inside a capsule called an ootheca, and young nymphs resemble smaller wingless adults. Warm indoor conditions allow some species—especially German cockroaches—to reproduce quickly throughout the year.
They hide in tight, dark areas near food, warmth, and moisture: behind refrigerators, under sinks, around dishwashers, inside cabinets, and near plumbing. Droppings, shed skins, egg cases, odor, or nighttime sightings can signal an established population. Because indoor infestations require targeted materials and follow-up, cockroach programs are assessed and quoted separately.

Mice & Rodents
House mice can mature quickly and produce several litters in a year when food and shelter are available. Young are born hairless and dependent, then develop rapidly. This short reproductive cycle means a small amount of activity can become a larger problem if entry points remain open.
Common hiding areas include wall voids, attics, garages, basements, cabinets, and spaces behind appliances. Look for rice-sized droppings, gnaw marks, nesting material, scratching sounds, or damaged food packages. Traps, exterior bait stations, monitoring, and exclusion are property-specific add-ons rather than part of the basic spray plan.

Bed Bugs
Bed bugs progress from egg through five nymph stages before becoming adults, and they normally need a blood meal before each molt. Under favorable indoor conditions, a generation can develop in roughly a month. Eggs may survive an initial treatment and hatch later, which is why follow-up evaluation matters.
Inspect mattress seams, box springs, headboards, bed frames, upholstered furniture, baseboards, and nearby cracks. Useful signs include live bugs, pale shed skins, tiny eggs, dark spotting, or rusty stains; bites alone do not confirm an infestation. Omaha metro inspections start at $100, the fee is applied to treatment, and treatment includes one follow-up visit.

Wasps & Stinging Insects
Many social wasp colonies begin in spring when a fertilized queen builds a small nest and raises the first workers. The colony grows through summer and produces new queens and males later in the season. Most workers die after cold weather, while fertilized queens shelter and begin new colonies the following year.
Nests may be attached beneath eaves and decks, hidden in soffits or wall voids, or built inside ground cavities depending on the species. Repeated flight to one opening is a strong clue. Do not seal or disturb an active nest; nest location, access, and species determine the safest treatment, which is quoted separately.

Mosquitoes
Mosquitoes pass through egg, larva, pupa, and adult stages. The first three stages depend on water, and development may move quickly during warm weather. Different species use different water sources, from ponds and drainage areas to very small containers.
Check clogged gutters, buckets, plant saucers, toys, tarps, birdbaths, and other places that hold water. Adults often rest in shaded vegetation and become active around people and pets. Property mosquito treatment is included under the general pest-control plan when seasonal conditions support mosquito activity.
Water-dependent life cycleContainers & shadeCovered pest
Fleas
Fleas develop through egg, larva, pupa, and adult stages. Eggs laid on an animal are not sticky and commonly fall into carpeting, furniture, bedding, and floor cracks. Larvae avoid light and later form protective cocoons, where pupae may remain until warmth, movement, and carbon dioxide signal that a host is nearby.
Property activity is often concentrated where pets rest, sleep, or jump down from furniture. Watch for adult fleas jumping near ankles, pepper-like flea dirt, or activity around pet bedding. The general plan covers appropriate property treatment, but Mission Pest Control does not treat animals or people; those concerns belong with a veterinarian or medical professional.

Ticks
Ticks progress through egg, six-legged larva, eight-legged nymph, and adult stages. They usually take a blood meal during each active stage before developing further. Depending on species and conditions, the full life cycle can take two years or longer.
Ticks are associated with tall grass, leaf litter, brushy borders, wooded edges, wildlife travel routes, and areas used by pets. Keeping vegetation short and removing leaf litter can reduce favorable habitat. Appropriate property treatment is covered by the general plan; Mission Pest Control does not treat ticks attached to people or animals.

Crickets
Crickets develop from eggs into wingless nymphs and then adults, without a pupal stage. Nymphs molt repeatedly as they grow. Outdoor species commonly move toward buildings when conditions turn hot, dry, or cold, while house crickets may reproduce indoors near warmth and moisture.
Look near door thresholds, foundation gaps, garages, basements, utility penetrations, and stored items. Chirping males and nighttime sightings are common signs. Exterior liquid and granular perimeter treatments help reduce entry and are included when crickets are addressed under the quarterly plan.

Silverfish & Firebrats
Silverfish and firebrats hatch from eggs as small versions of the adults and continue molting throughout their lives. They develop slowly compared with many household insects and can live for years when humidity, shelter, and food are favorable.
They favor humid, undisturbed areas such as basements, bathrooms, laundry rooms, closets, and storage boxes. They may feed on paper sizing, glue, starches, fabrics, and stored materials. Moisture correction and targeted treatment of cracks and harborages support the perimeter protection included in the plan.

Earwigs
Earwigs develop from eggs through several nymph stages before adulthood. Females commonly place and guard eggs in protected soil chambers. Populations build outdoors during the growing season and may wander indoors when weather or moisture conditions change.
They hide in damp mulch, leaf litter, beneath stones and flowerpots, along foundations, and around low doors or basement entries. The forceps at the end of the abdomen make them easy to recognize. Reducing moisture and debris, sealing gaps, and maintaining a treated perimeter help manage this covered occasional invader.

Residential Service
Exterior Perimeter Treatment
A Mission Pest Control technician applies a targeted exterior treatment along the foundation and entry areas of a residential property. This protective barrier is one part of the general pest-control plan and works alongside granular perimeter treatment and property-specific recommendations.
Every property is assessed individually so application areas and treatment methods can be matched to the structure, pest activity, weather, and surrounding conditions.
Exterior pest service can include physically removing accessible spider webs and egg sacs around windows, siding, eaves, and other common harborage points. This immediate cleanup complements treatment by reducing visible pest evidence and helping us inspect areas where activity may return.
Regular attention to window frames, corners, overhangs, and protected exterior surfaces supports a cleaner appearance and a more complete residential pest-control service.
Basements provide important clues about how pests may be entering or moving through a structure. We inspect accessible sill plates, foundation transitions, utility lines, windows, plumbing routes, floor joints, and other protected areas for activity and potential entry points.
What we find helps determine whether the property needs targeted interior treatment, exterior prevention, moisture correction, monitoring, or a separate exclusion recommendation.
Kitchens concentrate food, water, warmth, and plumbing penetrations in a small area. When interior activity is found, treatment can be directed into appropriate accessible cracks, cabinet voids, plumbing routes, and other pest harborages instead of relying on broad, unnecessary application.
The technician evaluates where activity is occurring, protects food-contact areas, and applies treatment according to the product label and the needs of the property.
More completed-job photographs can be added here over time. Treatment methods and results vary according to the pest and property.
